Allergy and Anaphylaxis Aware School
Amaroo School is an allergy and anaphylaxis aware school. This is to provide protection for children who have severe allergic reactions to nuts and nut products. Our canteen menu will aim to be nut free and parents are asked to provide nut free food for their child's morning tea and lunch.
Assessment and Reporting
A range of assessment tools is used by our teachers to determine your child's progress throughout the year. A component of our assessment procedures each year will be PIPS assessment for Kindergarten children early in Term 1. Year 3, Year 5, Year 7 and Year 9 children will participate in the National Assessment Program (NAPLAN) in literacy and numeracy early in Term 2.
In 2013 written reporting occurs mid year and at the end of the year, with a parent-teacher interview at the end of Term 2 and a learning journey at the end of Term 3. Based on surveys of parents and staff, the assessment and reporting procedures will be modified as the school grows and develops over the coming years.
The School Board has developed a policy relating to student appeals. For further information go to Appeals.
